Derick Michael Cantrell July 17, 1993 - October 24, 2012 Derick Michael Cantrell was welcomed by the angels October 24, 2012. He was born on July 17, 1993 to Michael Cantrell and Marie (Maes) Trujillo. Derick attended Sierra High School, Widefield , Colorado and graduated from Lawton High School, Lawton, Oklahoma in 2012. Derick took pride and excelled in everything he aspired to do. He was an avid athlete, with interests ranging from track and soccer to bowling. His love for acting and theatre allowed Derick to shine even brighter as he touched the lives of so many. He was recently involved in filming the upcoming web series Finding Princess Charming. An aspiring Marine, Derick was due to start boot camp in December. Derick was preceded in death by his grandmother Alice Maes and Great-Grandparents Percy and Ruth Mills. He is survived by his loving parents SFC Michael and Jenna Cantrell, and Marie and Joe Trujillo; sister, Ashley Cantrell; brothers, Anthony, Chad and Garrett Cantrell and Gabriel Trujillo; grandparents, William and Virginia Cantrell and George Maes. Derick is also watching over a large circle of beloved family and friends. Derick's viewing will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2320 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Burial following at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
