Evelyn Van Der Wege

With our most saddened heart, on September 2, 2014 our Saint here on earth known as our most beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, Evelyn A. (Koel) Van Der Wege, ended her selfless journey and passed into the care of her loving God, surrounded by her family of whom she adored and dedicated her entire life. Evelyn was born in Lenora, Kansas on November 3, 1924 the only daughter of the late Frank and Lena Koel. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1954. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her loving husband Dale L. Van Der Wege of 63 years; 3 brothers, Francis, Walter (Mary), and Raymond. Her daughters Donna Tolles and Marita Van Der Wege, her son Eugene Van Der Wege; and 3 grandchildren William C. Nelson, Jamie and John Van Der Wege.Evelyn is survived by the family she loved more than life itself Wava Nelson, Eldon Van Der Wege, Marcia Nugent, Steven (Lori) Van Der Wege, Duane (Diana) Van Der Wege, Dale E. Van Der Wege, Carolyn Van Der Wege, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and other extended family. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to her faithful and devoted church of sixty years Sacred Heart Church in lieu of flowers.The family will dearly miss her gentle soul, her giving heart, and comforting touch. Rest in peace our Dearest mom, grandma, great and great-great grandmother. Arrangements are in the care of Blunt Mortuary in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
