Florence McFarlin

Florence McFarlin, 92, peacefully passed away November 8, 2016 at the Mackenzie Memory Care Facility after a short illness of pneumonia. Born June 15, 1924, in Pueblo, CO to Roy and Mary (Sakala) McFarlin. She grew up on the family farm near Fondis, CO. She graduated from Peyton High School in 1942. Moving to Colorado Springs, she worked at Derns Candy shop for nine years before taking a job at Colorado Springs City Utilities, which she held for 31 years. In retirement Florence enjoyed traveling, gardening, and crocheting. She is survived by sisters, Ethel (Vernon) White of Wright, Arkansas, Evelyn Allen, Vera Colbert, and Betty Tullis, and sister-inlaw Dottie McFarlin all of Colorado Springs. And several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Agnes, Maymie, Magdalene, and brothers Albert, and Vernon. Visitation will be held Saturday November 12, 2016 from 9:00-11:00 AM at Evergreen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Funeral Home Reception to follow.
