Irma Gleason

Irma M. Gleason January 21, 1918 – May 15, 2013 Irma Gleason passed away on May 15 in Colorado Springs. Irma was the “middle child” of eleven children born to Charles and Magdalena (Schilly) Jokerst. She was born in York, Nebraska on January 21, 1918. Irma is survived by her children: John and his wife, Verna, David and his wife, Gloria, Denna and her husband, Jim Stokes, Julie and her husband, Noble Wildman, Michael and his wife, Sarah and Mary and her husband, Randy Pfannenstiel. She is also survived by brothers Herman and his wife, Madeline Jokerst and James and his wife, Irene Jokerst; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, and a daughter, Janet Marie. Irma enjoyed sewing and painting. Three of her paintings were featured in the Alzheimer’s Auction at the Broadmoor Hotel. She was very proud of her seventeen years as a volunteer at Penrose Community Hospital. By far her greatest joy was her family. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs. Online condolences at evergreenfuneralhome.org
