James Watson

James E. Watson, Sr., 80, was born February 28, 1931, in Madison, Maine to the Rev. Louis and Alice (Craig) Watson. He married Caroline (Hall) in 1953. A graduate of Providence Bible Institute, James pastored American Baptist churches in Meriden and Manchester, N.H., Quaker Hill and Stratford Conn. After retirement, he was interim pastor for churches in New Hampshire, New York, Colorado, and Wyoming.   James is survived by his beloved wife and children: James (Sarah), of Victor, Colorado; Deborah, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rebecca Jones, of Townshend, Vermont, and Gloria, of Divide, Colorado; grandchildren Andy (Rhonda), Amy, Adam (Hannah), Joshua Jones and Alexandra Jones, and great grandchildren Caleb, Seth, Malachi and Titus; a sister, Dorothy Estes, of Tilton, N.H., and many nieces and nephews. His brothers John and Robert predeceased him.   James left a legacy of open-hearted self-giving in his family, ministry, and wider community. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ministers and Missionaries Benefits Board, American Baptist Churches USA (http://www.mmbb.org).   Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Blunt Mortuary. Funeral services will at 11:00 am on Friday, February 10 at the First Baptist Church, 317 E. Kiowa Street in Colorado Springs and on Tuesday, February 14 at Salem U.M. Church, Marysville, PA. Burial in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill, PA.
