Jason Cole Guthridge, age 40, a longtime Colorado Springs, Colorado resident, passed away on September 24, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Jason was born on February 9, 1970 in Lancaster, Ohio. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed racing his 1988 Mazda RX7 at local competitions and loved watching NASCAR racing. He was also a versatile artist who enjoyed working with various mediums and had an appreciation for silver jewelry. Jason is survived by his parents, Randy Guthridge and Rebecca “Becky” Lee, and by his sister, Chelsea Simpson; niece, Kinsey Layne Ammons-Lee; daughter, Meaghan Guthridge-Johnson; step-brother, Michael Guthridge and step-sister, Nicole Guthridge; and by his aunts, Janice Higley and Lorraine Hillberry. A memorial service was held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Blunt Mortuary Chapel, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.Obituary
