John Michael Sanford, age 66 and a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on August 22, 2011. John was born June 22, 1945 to the late, John Sanford and Hortense Blackwell in Dallas, Texas. John proudly served in the Vietnam and Persian Gulf War while he was in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Radio and T.V. Broadcast Supervisor for the Air Force. John was a loving father and husband who enjoyed bowling, watching football, reading, music and movies that depicted historical events. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife; Kendra Amidon-Sanford, two children; Jawone and Janine, and one sister; Ada Toles Coleman. John is preceded in death by both his parents.
