Katherina McElyea

Katherina McElyea (Koch) went home to be with the Lord December 19, 2012 surrounded by her family at home in Colorado Springs. She was born April 19, 1923 in Colgne, Germany to Anton and Margarethe Koch. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred McElyea, who passed away in 1986 in Colorado Springs, her parents and her sister, Margret Klemens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from Penrose Hospital Housekeeping in 1986. She was loved by all who knew her. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Broncos, Bingo and her Bingo friends and going to Cripple Creek. She is survived by her only child, daughter Margret Waldie (Ed), her Grandchildren Brian Waldie and Adam Waldie (Mellisia), and six great grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Christian, Patrick, Dylan and Jace. In lieu of flowers, please make charitable donations in Katherina’s name to Pikes Peak Hospice of Colorado Springs.
