Kathryn Windle February 9, 1928 to March 17, 2012   Kathryn (Hughes) Windle was born February 9, 1928 in Chanute, Kansas.  She passed away March 17, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Kathryn grew up in Nevada, Missouri and moved to Colby, Kansas when she got married to Forrest E. Windle in 1946.  They moved to Colorado Springs in 1952 and settled in Security in 1955.   Kathryn is survived by her husband, Forrest; daughters, Glenda (Bob) Armstrong and Jeanell Windle; her brother, James (Vanny) Hughes of Cherokee, Iowa and grandson, Ken (Brandy) Armstrong; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and her son, Everette.   Kathryn lived an active life being a full time wife and mother.  She was always available and volunteered for school activities.  She was also a girl scout leader.  She was very active as well with bible studies and church.  She was also a member of Monte Rosa Rebekah Lodge.   Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO.  A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Canon City Free Methodist Church, 501 North Griffin, Canon City, CO at 10:30 AM.  Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM on March 27, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canon City Free Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
