Laura Josephine Smith, age 93, long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 11, 2011. She was born June 22, 1918 in Griffinsville, Iowa, a daughter of the late Fred and Pearle Blackman Lowry. Laura is survived by her son, Jack (Sharon) Smith and 6 grandchildren; Robert Smith, Julie Wells, James Smith, Cathryn Turner, Michael Smith and Jonathan Smith. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Smith and one brother, Murill Lowry. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday July 14, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home located on 1830 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday July 15, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
