Lois Swartzendruber Obituary

Lois M. Swartzendruber, (age 100), died July 6, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born May 28, 1912 to Dave and Maggie Bontrager in Johnson County, Iowa. She was one of eight siblings, all of whom have predeceased her; brothers, Ray, Lloyd, Russell and Cecil; and sisters, Florence Maas, Gladys Hostetler and Nadine Hershberger. She married Lloyd M. Yoder June 1, 1932. Seven years after the death of her husband, Lloyd, she married Harold Swartzendruber (deceased). She is survived by daughters Beverly Burton and Bonnie Monatt (Norbert), son Gilbert Yoder, grandchildren Barbara Spizzirri (Tony), Marc Monatt (Michelle), Karin Pelletier (Bradford), Holly Bakanowski (Paul), and 5 great grandchildren (Lindsay, Adrienne, Heather, Bradford Jr., and Erik). She was an accomplished seamstress and used her artistic talents to help those less fortunate. She will be most remembered as being a very loving Mother and Grandmother. Burial will be in Kalona, Iowa (date to be announced). A Celebration of Life will be held at Pikes Peak Towers Penthouse, 1912 Eastlake Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910 on July 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
