Marie Schipper went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 27, 2011. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 21, 1934 and remembered her Midwest roots fondly. Marie spent most of her life in Merced, California, but moved to Colorado Springs in 2004. Marie Schipper will be remembered for her kindness and generosity to anyone in need. She was a humble woman with many talents who gave of herself each day. Marie has been an active member at Redeemer Lutheran Church since moving to Colorado Springs. She loved knitting for others and was also involved in Bible study and Braille ministry. Marie Schipper is survived by her 3 children, Ken (wife Rachel) and Jim of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Dinah Schipper of Merced, California. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, Stephanie, Nichole, Carolyn, Kimberly and David, and 1 great granddaughter. She will also be missed by her niece and nephews, Kathy Green and Thom and Dan Dugan. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 1, 2011, 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2226 N. Corona Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.
