Marilyn Catherine Wiebe, age 88; a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on August 3, 2011. She was born April 27, 1923 in Hartwell, Nebraska. Marilyn worked for many years for the City Utility Company as a Secretary. She volunteered at Holy Apostles Church, Penrose Hospital and other activities. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by 2 sons; Mark and Gregg Wiebe, 2 daughters; Carolyn Shipley and Janet Craig, 1 sister; Gena Portz, 3 brothers; James (Anita), Wayne, and Richard (Phyllis) Hawes, 5 grandchildren; Daniel and Shannon Shipley, also Brianne Pickett (David), Robby and Melissa Craig. She is preceded in death by her husband Al and both parents, Leonard and Mary Hawes. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM on Monday August 8, 2011 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow the Mass at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Holy Apostles Church.
