Mark P. La Cedra Obituary

Mark Paul LaCedra passed away at the Pikes Peak Hospice Center, in Colorado Springs, on Thursday, October 21, 2010 and is now in the presence of his Savior, the lord Jesus Christ. Mark fought a courageous battle with cancer during the past nine months. Mark was born on September 23, 1965 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Mark is survived by his three sisters, Patricia LaCedra of New Hampshire, Tracy LaCedra and Fiancé David K. Brough of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Renee' LaCedra-Roberts of Dracut, Massachusetts and his best friend and life-long partner, Keith Bricker of Colorado Springs, also surviving Mark are nephews, Anthony and Nicholas Belluardo; nieces, Victoria and Taylor Roberts; aunt, Patricia LaCedra and her daughter, Lauren (Nicholas) Isherwood and children Lillian and Jack; and uncle, Phillip LaCedra. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa C. LaCedra, grandparents; Cecil and Ernest Lambert and Lillian and Pasquel LaCedra. Mark has lived in Colorado Springs for the past 20 years and managed several Art and Framing stores in the Colorado Springs area. Mark had a strong compassion for art, photography, and enjoyed fishing immensely, Mark was a kind, generous man who never said no to a neighbor in need and found serenity in life through nature's simplistic display in its purest form. Additionally, Mark will be remembered by his friends for his quick- wit and his spontaneous ability to crack jokes befitting to the occasion. Mark's immediate family would like to remember him as a kind, generous, and loving individual that diligently pursued family unity throughout his life. The family would like to recognize the Pikes Peak Hospice, Penrose and Memorials hospitals, Interventional Pain Management Center (Dr. Laub and Staff) and the invaluable support of great friends during this most challenging time in Mark’s life. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, October 24, 2010, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Evergreen Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 PM at the Fellowship Bible Church of Colorado Springs, 5590 N. Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society for lung cancer research.
