Mary Case Obituary

Mary Jane Case, age 79, passed away on November 8, 2011, in Colorado Springs. She was born June 29, 1932, in New York, New York, a daughter to the late Anthony Thomas and Julia Etta (Grant) McEvoy. Mary Jane had many jobs throughout her life but none more important than wife and mother – perhaps that of grandmother and caring for her family. She was the definition of style and refinement. She was the life of a party, the block counselor, the adviser, the confidant, and the charity coordinator. She was appropriately nick named “the Mayor of Mount Vernon Street.” She made you feel that you were the main event even though there may have been 30 people in near proximity. She welcomed all and no one could leave the premises in want or need. She is survived by her five children, Robert A (Kathie), Regina M (William) Miller, Sharon C (James) Tubbs, Kathleen R (Rourke) Dupay, Laura A Caron, 21 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends too numerous to mention. She will truly be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert. Visitations with Rosary and vigil will be held at 7:30 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2320 North Cascade, Colorado Springs.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Corpus Christi.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to careandshare.org or Care and Share, 2605 Preamble Point, Colorado Sprins, CO 80915.
