Michael Francis Lanza, Sr. February 19, 1923 to April 18, 2011 Michael Francis Lanza, Sr., 88, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on April 18, 2011 in Colorado Springs. Michael was born on February 19, 1923 in Colorado Springs, a son of the late Thomas and Angelina (Lobue) Lanza. Michael enjoyed the outdoors especially going fishing, spending time with his family, friends and helping everyone. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #309 where he combined all three. He is survived by his two sons, Robert Lanza (Barbara Doenges) and Michael Francis Lanza II (Laurie); two grandchildren, Jason and Nicholas Lanza; two great grandchildren, Bryson and Brayden Lanza, and many extended family and friends too numerous to mention. Michael was also preceded in death by his brothers, Dan and Frank, and his sisters, Jean and Grace. Memorial service will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Elks Lodge #309, 3400 N. Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.
