Norman Davenport

Norman “Dale” Davenport has passed from this life into the next on the 2nd day of September, 2011. He will be forever missed by his wife of almost 59 yrs Jacquelyn “Jackie”, and his two sons Keith Davenport and Jon Davenport and their wives Wiske and Mary. Dale was preceded in death by his son Eric “Rick” Evan Davenport in 2002. He leaves behind other grieving family members, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many, many friends. Dale has lived in the Colorado Springs area since 1967. He was a faithful Christian,currently a member of the Pikes Peak Church of Christ, and previously a member of Church of Christ in Woodland Park, for a total of over 45 years. Originally born in Big Springs, Texas on January 25, 1932, he moved at age 4 to Farmington New Mexico where he spent his youth. Dale was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Afterwards he acquired degrees at Abilene Christian College in 1958, majoring in Accounting and Bible. Later in life Dale and his wife Jackie enjoyed traveling through this great country they loved so much in their motor home, making friends every where they went.  He will be remembered in the hearts of many for his loving smile and his heart warming personality.  Memorial service for our beloved family leader has been set for September 17, 2011 at 10:00am at the Pikes Peak Church of Christ.
