Peggy Weidlich

Peggy (Canty) Weidlich was born August 20, 1937 in Colorado Springs, CO to Margaret (Sullivan) Canty and Donat Canty. Peggy's first business experience came after graduating from St. Mary's High School at The Manhattan Lounge. The owner, her Aunt Katie Tilton, rewarded Peggy's hard work with a pink Cadillac and she was hooked. She went on to own several successful businesses. If you ever had a drink at The Bella Vista, The Scoreboard, The Erin Inn or The T-Gap Lounge, you probably enjoyed her infectious laugh and Irish dimples. Peggy began her long goodbye over ten years ago and is finally free from her battle with Alzheimer's disease. The family wishes to thank the exemplary staff at Namaste Alzheimer Center and Dr. Richard Evans for the compassionate, loving treatment she received while under their care.Peggy is survived by her sisters: Sheila (Canty) Venezia, Donna (Canty) Blake; and her brother Patrick Canty; and by her sons: Tony Weidlich (Kat), William Weidlich (Tammy), Patrick Petrie, Michael Weidlich; and her precious daughter Erin Weidlich. Peggy is also survived by her stepchildren: Kyle Weidlich and the Evanoff Family: Gary, Pauly, Steve, Lori, Evelyn; along with 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also loved and missed by her nieces, nephews and countless friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepson Skip Weidlich and step daughter Karen Evanoff. A memorial will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2pm.
