Peter Bardy

Peter John Bardy Peter John Bardy, 95, passed away on November 6, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born Peter John Bardauskas on June 9, 1917 in Rockford, Illinois to Lithuanian immigrants, John and Elizabeth (Cirul) Bardauskas. In 1931, the family legally changed its surname to Bardy.   Peter and his former spouse, Ellen Skogsberg Matthews, lived in the Chicago, Illinois area where he was employed as a mechanical engineer. He retired from Armous Research Foundation in Chicago where he worked on designing classified machinery for the Federal Government.   In the early 1960’s he moved to Manitou Springs, Colorado, where he resided for 45 years until moving to The Village at Skyline. He is survived by his long-time companion, Clara I. Allen, Colorado Springs, and his son, Robert (Colleen) Bardy; also of Colorado Springs. He had four grandchildren: Rick (Diana) Bardy; Peter D. Bardy; Lynne Bardy (Rahoul Ghose) all of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Rachel (Greg) Robertson of Paris, France. He had seven great grandchildren: Jennifer, Theresa, Emily, Ryan, Hannah, Grace and Erik. He had one great, great grandchild Annabella. He was considered a special grandfather to Wendy, Stacy, Justin, Katharine, Debbie, Denis, David, Randy, Katy, Dan and Libby.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his former spouse, Ellen, and his sisters Marie and Aldona.   A celebration of life gathering is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 6-8p.m. at Blunt Mortuary with graveside services scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 11:00am in Crystal Valley Cemetery, Manitou Springs, Colorado.
