Phyllis "Honey" Barcelon January 14, 1923 - September 11, 2012 Phyllis "Honey" Barcelon was born January 14, 1923, in Las Animas, Colorado to Solomon and Beatriz Muniz, but lived most of her life in Colorado Springs. She married her beloved Orlando on June 12, 1945. They enjoyed over 50 wonderful years of marriage and were devoted to their family. Honey was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her courage and inner strength were a testament to her faith in God. Her generous, selfless manner serves as a role model to us all. Honey was an excellent cook and fantastic baker. She was always eager to try new recipes. She was also a gifted quilter and had such an eye for color. Her needle-turn applique and hand-quilting stitches were quite exquisite. Quilting gave her such pleasure and the friends she made along the way were a treasure to her. Honey went home to our Lord on September 11th, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Orlando; her parents; brothers Solomon Jr. and Albert; sisters Rosie Estrada and Katie Muniz; and great-grandson Shawn Mouser. She is survived by son, LeRoy (Eleanor)Barcelon; daughter, Linda Potucek; daughter, Nora (Chuck) Bogenreif; son, Edward (Anne) Barcelon of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Dianna (Jeff) Ketchum; three sisters; Florida Erhart, Frances Sandoval and Jeannie Martinez; grandchildren Amy, Jason, Jeremy, Misty, Matthew, Natalie, Tyler, Jenna, Ashley and Kaley; great-grandchildren Averey, Lucas, Christian, Amanda, Charissa, Lauren, Jaidyn, Ryan and Kyle; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd, on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 5:00PM with a rosary at 6:00PM. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1830 S Corona Ave, on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 10:00AM, with interment immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
