Robert “Bob” Mullins Formerly of Chicago and long time Colorado Springs resident and business owner, passed away suddenly, Friday, July 1, 2011. Age 84 years. Survived by his soul mate of 57 years who loved him dearly and long time business partner; Everna “Eve” Mullins, daughters Lynn Janke and Gwenn Mullins of Georgia. His three granddaughters Vedette Forney, Mairea Place and Michelle Janke, great grandchildren Corbin James Forney and Joslynn Eve Place. Bob was born in Chicago; he graduated from St. Rita of Cascia Augustine Predatory School in Chicago, IL. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, 3rd Armor Division. Bob was a Nuclear Technician for Argon National Laboratory before his career change from radiation poisoning to Chief Operating Engineer (Local #399) for Nabisco of Chicago for over 2 decades and upon retirement, owner of Newman’s Upholstery of Old Colorado City which he ran with passion with his wife Eve by his side. Bob loved restoration of vehicles all his life and found his “niche” with upholstery just as satisfying. His daily jovial interactions with businesses and clients turned to many friends that he looked forward to just “visiting and catching up!” Bob had unique hobbies that kept him always occupied from radio control vehicles, engine building and modifying, amateur radio, computer building and forever reading and expanding his knowledge. He was a loving father and husband and always told Eve, “to stop and smell the roses and the deepest color of the red rose is how deep my love is for you!” We will always love you and miss you.
