Ruby J. Shouse 1914 - 2012 Our Mother, Ruby J. Shouse, had her Heaven Day on August 4, 2012 at the age of 98.  Born in Rockingham, North Carolina on January 18, 1914, she moved with her parents and four sisters to Colorado Springs in 1921.  On November 11, 1940 she married Gordon Shouse who predeceased her in 2000.  Ruby worked in the libraries of Colorado Springs/Palmer High School and Mitchell High School until her retirement.  She was also very active in the family business, Shouse Appliance, still a fixture on Academy Boulevard.   Among Ruby’s many interests was her avid participation in the Woman’s Club of Colorado Springs. Above all, her passion was her family and many friends.  She was beloved by all who knew her.  Ruby is survived by her daughter Sharon Landes (Burrell), her son John Shouse (Roxanne), two granddaughters, Kelli Gerwig and Heather Shouse, two grandsons, Scott Landes and Sean Landes, and five great grandchildren.  Ruby was an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church at 217 East Pikes Peak Avenue in Colorado Springs, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church or to Pikes Peak Hospice.
