Sally Beals Colorado Springs, Colorado Obituary

Sally Beals

Also known as Mom, Ma, Sal, and various derivatives of Grandma. Raised in Colorado Springs from the age of five, she graduated from Colorado Springs High School. She married her high school boyfriend, George Beals, in 1954. A truly amazing person. She lived on four continents, lived in six countries, moved homes at least twenty eight times all while raising what she proudly called six “only children.” The first child was born at 12,200 feet in the Peruvian Andes and the last was born in the South African bush. All others were born in the USA. An accomplished wife and homemaker, she easily melded into all of the communities in which she lived, joining into local activities and making many friends around the world. As the children went off to school she became a very proficient water-colorist. She had many great experiences as she traveled internationally and within the US, in groups or as an individual, painting pictures. A devout Catholic, she was a “sounding board” for missionary priests as they interpreted and implemented the Vatican II Conference in the African bush. A dedicated family person, she is survived by her six “only children.” Janette Louise Beals of Lake George, Colorado, Patricia Marie Beals of Colorado Springs, Judith Ellen Beals of Lexington, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Ann Beals of Clinton, Connecticut, William Michael Beals of Englewood, Colorado and Hope Lucille Hosack of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by twelve wonderful grandchildren and her husband of nearly 60 years. A time of visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Saint Francis, 7550 Assisi Heights, Colorado Springs, CO 80919.
