Steve Marvin Hays went to be with his Lord June 19, at his home after a short illness. He was born November 1, 1940 in Caruthersville, MO to Tommie (Wyatt) and Steve Hays. He was married to the late Roberta Hays for 52 years. He is survived by his two children Carol Diaz and James Hays both of Colorado Springs, his grandchildren; Anthony Diaz (Victoria) of Ft. Campbell, KY, Sasha Diaz (Didier), and Nicholas Diaz of Colorado Springs and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his stepfather Watson Smith, his sister Peggy (Dennis) Bellm, his brothers Dan and Did Hays. His parents and his brother Allen Hays preceded him in death. Steve served in the Air Force and retired from GSA Civil Service after 34 years. He was a gospel singer and was involved in the local racing associations for 20 years. Steve will be missed by many who loved him.
