Wayne Norman Young October 21, 1921 to March 28, 2012    Wayne Norman Young, 90, of Cascade, Colorado passed away March 28, 2012. He drifted off to the Lord while in the care of Pikes Peak Hospice. He was born to Thelma and Glenn Young on October 21, 1921 in Bennet, Nebraska. Wayne moved to Firth, Nebraska at age 7 where he graduated from high school in 1939.   He entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1939 during World War II. He spent 26 months overseas and was promoted 6 times and was honorably discharged after 7 years as a Chief Radioman. He then traveled to Europe as a Navy Technician who trained the Portuguese in communication. Wayne then took on many business adventures to include a restaurant, air traffic controller and then later obtained his Commercial Pilot's license in 1962 and delivered new aircraft. He was also an Auctioneer and he and his son conducted over 200 auctions. He moved his wife and family to Colorado Springs in August, 1965 to start his career in the furniture business. He owned several furniture stores locally to include Young and Sons Furniture, Furniture Liquidators, and currently Furniture Rentals and Sales.   Wayne is survived by his wife of 67 years, Violet; his children, Mary Mercer, Ron Young and wife, Debra Young, Karen Branch and husband, Robert, son, Lonnie Young and son in law, Garry Vanderwalker; his grandchildren, Jonette, Jennifer, Brandon, Michael, Shannon, and Matthew. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Zachary, Carrissa, Clayton, Brayden, Alexis, Josiah, Conner and Ariella.   Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday April 2, 2012, at Evergreen Funeral Home,1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs with Funeral Services at 1:00 PM.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock
