William Burnes

William F. Burnes, Jr., 71, of Colorado Springs died Saturday, October 18, 2014. He is survived by his two children: Carol Burnes Ochoa and John Han, their spouses, and five grandchildren. He was born in Wolf Island, MO on Aug. 14, 1943 and spent most of his childhood life in Detroit, MI. Bill received BS Computer Information Systems, a Masters in Computer and Information Resources Management, and an MBA. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Air Force and served as a meteorologist and a software engineer for 21 years. He retired from the Air Force as a MSGT in 1984. Bill moved to Colorado Springs in 1984 to take a new job as a quality assurance software engineer at TRW. He retired in 1999 to spend more time on things he enjoyed, like fishing. During his retirement, he traveled frequently to MI to spend time with his mother, MO to fish with his cousins, and CA to spend time with his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, October 25th at the Evergreen Cemetery (1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903). Arrangements are in the care of Evergreen Funeral Home in Colorado Springs, CO.
