Winifred Dale Thompson, age 75, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on May 2, 2011 in Colorado Springs. Winifred was born June 5, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas. Winifred was a member of Payne Chapel AME Church for many years. She was a volunteer at Senior Health and 4-H, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She loved gardening. She had worked for many years as a Registered Nurse.
Winifred is survived by five sons: Kenneth A. (Leslie) Clark, Harold E. (Anita) Clark, Michael S. Clark, Alan B. (Tina) Generally and David Q. (Ruthie) Generally; one daughter, Kathleen (Gilbert) Clark; her sister, Betty Jean Jackson; three brothers, Harold (Jean) Tolson, Robert Lee (Marcene) Dewberry and Harry Rogers (Denise) Dewberry; 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dewberry and Ida Rose Kemper, a daughter, Brenda Marie Generally, 2 brothers, Forrest Eugene Potts and James Edward Dewberry and a brother-in-law, William R. Jackson,
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 8, 2011 and from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Payne Chapel AME Church, 3625 Marion Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
