Alejandro Eloy "Lloyd" Aguilar of Ignacio passed away May 29th, 2015. He was 87. Lloyd was born August 14th, 1927, in Cibolla, NM, to Felix and Bernardita Aguilar. He grew up in Cibolla. He moved to the Arboles, Colo and Rosa, NM area which is where he met Delphia Garcia. They moved to Silverton where he worked in the silver mines. Next they relocated to Durango and he worked as a logger. Lloyd worked in numerous jobs to support his family in the Durango area. He was well known and well regarded by his co-workers, and peers. In his youth, Lloyd was a talented, golden glove boxer. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball. For the past 20 years, he and his son, Angelo have lived in Oxford, Colorado where he enjoyed working the property, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Lloyd is survived by his sons: Angelo, Louis, and Bernie; daughters: Yolanda, Cynthia, Brenda, Loretta, and Roberta; his wife: Delphia; his sister: Mary Chavez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Raymond; sister: Florence Seipel; and son: Edward "Bardo" Aguilar. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Friday, June 5th, also at Sacred Heart; Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
