Aubrey Hicks-Bonilla Obituary

Aubrey Marie Hicks-Bonilla died May 3, 2015 at her home in Durango. She was 40. There will be a celebration of her life on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 4:00pm at the Life Church, Bayfield (111 South Street). Please wear something PINK or GREEN, in memory of Aubrey. Aubrey was born August 30, 1974 in Ridgecrest, CA to Thomas Hicks & Martha Bogart. She split her schooling between Ridgecrest & Durango. She attended high school both at Durango High & Apple Valley High. Aubrey moved to Durango in 1985. Aubrey was a big advocate for animals. She enjoyed working at a local animal shelter, volunteering at Annie’s Orphans or just caring for her own pets. Aubrey also had a passion for body art, including tattoos. She loved dancing, watching her favorite TV show, “The Walking Dead” or watching the Oakland Raiders play. But above all, she was a proud mother of three beautiful children. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by: mother Martha Bogart; father Thomas Hicks; stepmother Linda Hicks; stepfathers Richard Zimmerman & James Bogart; grandfather SCPO CT "Bud" Hicks; her husband Jarome Jenkins; daughter Katherine (Lorenzo) Albo; sons Jacob Hicks & Anthony Webster; brothers Matthew (Alinea) Zimmerman & Donald Palmer; sister Lisa Zimmerman (Nathan Meushaw); granddaughter Sanaya Albo; 17 nieces, 6 nephews, multiple aunts & uncles; many cousins & a lot of friends. She is preceded in death by: her grandpa Jay Koehler; her grandmas Ella Chipman & Bernice Hicks; her uncles James A. Rader & Michael A Hicks.
