Betty Fahrion passed away peacefully on 12/1/2015 in Pagosa Springs, CO. Betty was born 2/22/1929 in Flagstaff, AZ to Bob & Bessie Patton. The family moved to Ignacio in the 1930s. Betty attended school in Bayfield where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1946. She married Don Fahrion on 9/9/1949 in Tierra Amarilla, NM; they had five children. Betty was a long time Bookkeeper/Accountant for many local companies until she retired in 2009. A wonderful cook who loved gardening & embroidery, Betty never met a stranger & was a loyal friend to many. Her love of horses & the western life lead to her involvement in the Labor Day Rodeo. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Don; parents; brothers Burleigh & Dale Patton; sister Bea Bartholomew. Betty is survived by her children, Joe Fahrion (Jacque) of Pagosa Springs; Pat Fahrion of Aztec, NM; Mitch Fahrion (Cindy) of Surprise, AZ; Tammy Stout (Earl) of Meeker, CO; Donna "Jaylee" Powell (John) of Bayfield, CO; grandchildren Jode, Cody, Dawn, Chris, Joe, Justin, & Siarra; great-grandchildren Kyler, Kaden, Gunner, Brynn, & Cash. A graveside service will be held Saturday, 12/12/2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield.
