Dewey Lattin

Dewey Lattin Jr went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6th, 2015. Born April 5th, 1926 to George Dewitey and Hilda Mae Lattin in Pagosa Springs, CO. After school he joined the Navy in 1943-1949, where he was stationed in Florida, Long Beach, Pearl Harbor, Midway, Shanghai and other places in China. Dewey knew how long he was in the Navy down to the hour. After the Navy, he worked various jobs. In 1952 he met the love of his life Maxine Montoya and they married April 25th, 1952. They had 4 sons; Ronnie G (deceased), Terry Lee (Vicki), LeRoy (Linda), Gary Dean (Marie), daughter Peggy Vautier and Leslie Lattin former daughter-in-law, who he thought a lot of, and grandchildren Jamie, Kayla, Joni, Matthew, Roxanne, Amanda and Jeremy, 17 great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother-in-law and sister in-law.<br>Dewey was a hard worker all his life. He was a Mineral County Deputy Sheriff for 43 years, 17 years as an Archuleta County School bus driver, he worked 43 years as a ranch foreman at Borne's Lake and numerous years as a Colorado Mounted Ranger. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, camping and hauling wood. He instilled great family values and was loved by so many in our community. Dewey never met a stranger and always had a hug for anyone he met. He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Wesley Lattin and his son Ronnie G.<br>Rosary will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at 6pm Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Services will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10am at John Paul II Church.<br>In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pagosa Mountain Hospital or Pine Ridge Nursing Home.
