Harry G. Peterson, 77 years, of Durango, died peacefully at home on October 4th, 2016. He was born July 6, 1939 in Elbert, Colorado. He graduated from Calhan High School, in Calhan, CO. Harry worked for the La Plata Electric Association for 43 and one half years. Harry was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge. Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Iva Peterson (Durango); son David (Durango); daughter Sharon (Cortez); sisters: Millie Morton (Colorado Springs, CO) & Kathy Mattson (Riverside, CA); brothers Stan Peterson (Maple Grove, MN) & Arthur Peterson (Escalon, CA); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents: Florence & Edwin Peterson; brothers: Larry Irwin & Eddie Peterson. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 East 3rd Avenue, Durango, CO 81301, followed by interment at Greenmount Cemetery.
