Hazel Robison

Hazel Elaine Robison (82) died July 21, 2012, in Denver, Colorado, of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born November 25, 1929, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Alfred and Jane Mutch. After graduating from Lake Crystal, Minnesota, High School in 1947, she attended Mankato Commercial College and worked five years in Owatonna, Minnesota, for an insurance company. Hazel moved to Denver in the early 1950s and worked as an insurance secretary and underwriter until 1978. Hazel married Paul Robison in Denver on March 7, 1970. She and Paul moved to Durango, Colorado, in July of 1978 to open a branch office of Jones Real Estate College. She enjoyed working with real estate students and clients. Many of them became close friends. Hazel cared for her parents until their deaths in 1992. In July, 1994, her husband suffered a stroke and she cared for him until his death, March 3, 2009. She moved back to Denver and was lovingly cared for by her step-son, Gerry, and his wife, Linda, until her death. Her family remembers, “Hazel was loved by everyone. She had a loving, gentle personality. She was also a gifted artist who derived much pleasure from her many paintings and crafts.” Hazel did not have any children of her own, but is survived by four step-children, eight step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren. Cremation has occurred. Memorial gatherings will be held in Denver and Durango at a later date.
