James Barry

Mike Barry passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at home, surrounded by family. He was 62 years old. Mike was born Oct. 24, 1954 in Durango, Colorado. He grew up in and attended school in Farmington. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and Honorably served his Country. Mike married the love of his life, Evelyn (Madril) on Dec. 25, 2004. He loved fast cars and motorcycles and working on his autos. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, daughter: Monica; son: Jerome; Father: James; Siblings: Anthony (Jo), Teddy (Calista), Cecelia, Paul (Laura), Tom (Ana), Ana, Liz (Chip) and Chris Carter (his white brother); Grandchildren: Christopher, Valerie, Samantha, Alex, Mauricio, and Galilea [the apple of his eye]; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by mother: Vicky; and Grandmother: Clorinda. A rosary will be recited on Thurs., Nov. 10, at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 North Allen, Farmington, NM, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango. Memorial contributions may be sent to fund pancreatic cancer research.
