Janine Masterson

Janine Kay Masterson, 68, died peacefully in her husband’s arms, Monday, April 9, 2012, in Arboles, Colo. Mrs. Masterson was born June 17, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nev., the daughter of John and Pauline Monkres. She was raised in Oklahoma City, graduated high school, and began her college career in that region. She married Don Masterson in Monte Vista, Colo., on March 8, 1984. Janine and Don owned and operated the Bayfield Locker Plant and Candy Store for about three years, from 1991-1993. Mrs. Masterson loved to fish and swim; she was a loyal companion to her husband, Don. She also loved dancing, playing cards, and was a friend to all. She is survived by her husband, Donald Masterson, of Arboles, Colo.; mother, Pauline Monkres, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Connie (Ron) Stobbe, of Creede, Colo., son, Kenny (Lyn) Walker, of Oklahoma City; and brother Lynn (Pat) Monkres of Maryland. Services will occur at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, Okla.
