Kenneth Watson

Kenneth Joseph Watson passed away in Bayfield, Colo., on September 26, 2012, at the age of 66. Kenneth was born on November 28, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, but soon moved with his parents to California were his father taught at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo. The family moved in 1952 to San Jose in northern California, where Kenneth grew up and attended school. After graduating high school, he attended San Jose State University before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving in the Special Forces. After his military service, Kenneth returned to San Jose with his young family where he worked and lived. Kenneth enjoyed backpacking throughout the western states and on one of his journeys he discovered his paradise in Bayfield and later moved there in 1991 to make it his home. Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kimberley (PA), mother, Eva(CA), brothers Donald (CA), and Gary (OR). He is preceded in death by his father; Kenneth Sr., who passed earlier this year. Family and friends will miss Kenneth. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango.
