Lila June Barnett, 85, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Cottonwood Rehabilitation Center in Durango, Colorado. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Private family services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Barnett was born February 28, 1929 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of Herbert and Hannah Miller. June was one of three children and she grew up in West Virginia and Ohio. She graduated from Bexley High School in Bexley, Ohio. She married Glenroy Barnett on April 1, 1951. They had five children together, to whom she was a loving mother dear. June and Glen moved to Bayfield, Colorado in 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenroy Barnett, in 2005. She is survived by her children; Matt (Kristi) Barnett and Robert (Marilyn) Barnett both of Ignacio, Colo., Susan (David) Visser of Eagle, Idaho, Nancy (Kevin) Williamson of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Dan (Sheila) Barnett of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by her brother, Rollin “Ted” Miller of Hockessin, Delaware and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in June Barnett’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
