Maria Elvena Albo, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in Durango. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and a Rosary and Prayer Vigil will follow at 7:00 p.m. (also Hood Mortuary). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and burial will occur at Greenmount Cemetery. Elvena was born November 7, 1935, in Ignacio, Colorado the daughter of Fred Casias and Victoria Atencio. She grew up in Cortez. She worked at the 7-11 in Durango for many years. She was married Jose Pedro “Pete” Albo in December 16, 1984. She was an excellent cook, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Elvena was giving towards others and especially loved her family, children and all their families. She is survived by her husband Pete; Children: Benerita Lobato, Liola Pacheco, Anna Casias, Denise Bell, Steve Casias, Elvie Casias, and Dean Begay; Siblings: Shirley Casias, Sarah Atencio, Cordy Atencio and Margie Rodriguez; Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Step-children: Rev. Pete, Jr., Lorenzo, and Maxine Albo. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Paul Atencio, Charlie Adams and Walter Adams; a granddaughter: Louise Suazo; and a step-son: Damasio Albo.
