Marion Webber

Long-time Durango resident Marion L. Webber passed away July 21, 2012, at The Gingerich Home for the Elderly in Farmington, N.M. At the time of her death, Marion was 101 years young. Marion was born May 3, 1911, in Animas City, Colo., to Clarence Earl Hiner and Esther Lillian Ussher Hiner. She was the second of eight children. On June 1, 1935, Marion married Samuel H. Webber in Durango. Sam and Marion lived in and around Durango until they moved to Farmington in 1980 to be closer to their son, Lanny. Marion was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. During her lifetime she worked at the Orr School as the cook and at being a dairy farmer's wife. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Webber, her parents, five brothers (Ellis, Eldon, Bill, Albert, and Kenneth Hiner), and one sister, Marguerite Culhane. She is survived by her son Lanny (Nancy) Webber, sister Lillian Davis, sisters-in-law Lena Hiner and Naomi Hiner, granddaughters Kathilyn Jo Webber, Rebecca Lynne (Chase) Hudgins, Amanda Rae (Jeffery) Goossen, great-grandsons Conner and Caleb Gaskins, and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Hood Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service for Marion will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Hood Mortuary, 1261 East 3rd Avenue, in Durango, Colo. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gingerich Home for the Elderly, 27 Rd 5577, Farmington, NM 87401.
