Merle Walker

Merle Leroy (Lee) Walker, Age 70, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 while attending a family reunion in Laughlin, Nevada. He served in the US Air Force, then settled in Carlsbad, CA with his wife and children. He was a partner in Buccola Engineering, Inc. The son of Mary Alice Robbins and Ray Walker, he was born, raised and attended school in Durango. Married for 52 years to Lorna (Bukovec) Walker of Carlsbad, CA. Father of Darrell Walker of Northridge, CA and Brent Walker of Laramie, WY, grandfather of Kevin Walker, also of Northridge, CA. He was brother to Duane Walker (Phoenix, AZ), Bess Terrell (Lake Havasu City, AZ), Clifford Walker (Westminster, CO), Del Walker (Canyon, TX), and Charles Walker (Bayfield, CO). He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Violet Wells, one brother, Ernie Walker, and a son, Kevin Lee Walker. A graveside service will be held at Greenmount Cemetery, Durango, on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 11am. Following services, there will be a reception for friends and family at Florida Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
