Rita Yvonne Hendricks, 61, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, was called from this life by our heavenly Father on December 13, 2012, at her home in Bayfield, Colo., surrounded by loved ones. Rita was born to William and Alma Martin December 22, 1950, in Artesia, N.M. Rita enjoyed fishing and bowling. She was a member of Durango Gunslingers some time ago. She worked at Brenda's Cafe for 14 years. She is survived by her sons Chris and Shawn Hendricks of Bayfield; sister, Debbie Harris, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her uncle Smokey Montgomery and Aunt Sis of Artesia, N.M.; cousins, Gayle Wright and Norita, nine grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, nephew Todd Martin of Bayfield; and several other nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Delbert Martin. Her family said, "Mom, Grandma, we will miss you very much. It brings us great comfort knowing you are dwelling in the house of the Lord." Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the Church of Christ in Bayfield, with Reverend Ray Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Pine River Cemetery.
