Roger Dennison passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 23, 2018, in his home in Farmington, NM, he was 78 years old. Roger was born August 11, 1939 in Mancos, CO to Bud Dennison and Mary Rowe. After his service of 4 years in the U.S. Navy, he met Rita Kimsey and they married October 5, 1962, in Durango, CO. They were blessed with 3 children, Rhonda, Roger Dale and Robin. Roger worked for Union Texas Petroleum and Burlington Resources, where he retired. During his retirement, Roger took up wood working, which he enjoyed very much. He had an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. Most of all, Roger loved to spend time with his family. Roger was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend, and role model. He will be missed by all who loved him. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Bud Dennison & Mary Rowe and brother Gail Dennison. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Rita; daughters Rhonda (Casey) Elliott, Robin (Troy) Gonzales, Son Roger Dale (Kyla) Dennison; sisters Barbara Miller & Dove (Tommie) Bryan; brothers George & Gordon Dennison; ten grandchildren Meagan (Brian), Misti (Adam), Garett, Brant, Andrew, Kobe, Hayden, Syrus, Uriah & Keeley; and 4 great-grandchildren Collin, Carver, Olivia, & Owen. A service will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, Colorado with military honors.
