Olga M. Venn passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, July 1, 2019, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, with her beloved granddaughter, Jodi Berto Ahlstrom by her side. She was 96. Mrs. Venn was born on July 11, 1922, in Syracuse, NY to her late parents, Quirino and Louise Montopoli. She grew up in Corning, NY, and was a graduate of Corning Free Academy. She was married to the late E. Grant Venn in the 1960s and they lived in Parkersburg, WV, Silver Spring, MD, Marietta, GA and Roswell, GA. In 2012, Mrs. Venn and her daughter, Diane, moved to Glenwood Springs, CO to be near her granddaughter, Jodi Berto Ahlstrom. Mrs. Venn worked in various high-level executive assistant positions in the fields of public education, computer technology and pharmaceuticals during her working career. She also volunteered extensively with Northside Hospital during her long-term residency in the Atlanta, Georgia area, and was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs, GA. Mrs. Venn is survived by her daughter Diane Tobia Berto of Rifle, CO, son-in-law James Berto of Atlanta, GA, one grandchild, Jodi Berto Ahlstrom of Glenwood Springs, CO, one great-grandchild, Alexander Ahlstrom of Glenwood Springs, CO, two step-daughters Vicky and Deb Venn of Jacksonville, Florida, one step-son, John Venn of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and several nieces and nephews living in the states of New York, Maryland, Georgia, Ohio and Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband, E. Grant Venn; and her brothers, George, Tommy, and Carmen Montopoli. A special Memorial Service for Mrs. Venn will be held in Atlanta, Georgia at a date and time yet to be determined. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home, Glenwood Springs, CO, is in charge of arrangements.
