Don graduated from Wilson High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1964, where he enjoyed being on the football team and running track. At the end of high school Don enlisted to the US Army and served two tours in Vietnam spending a year overseas as an E4 airborne radio teletype operator. Upon stateside return Don married Mary Starkey in May 1968, in Nebraska. They moved to Idaho where Don attended Lewis-Clark State College for electronic engineering but did not complete a degree. As a great outdoorsman he loved working as a Forester at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington until the winter of 1969, when the family returned to Nebraska until 1976. All three of his daughters fondly remember waking early to go fishing or family camping adventures throughout their childhoods. While in Nebraska, Don worked at a car dealership, Marquette grain elevator and for 5 years in Polk, NE for Wilson Native Grass Seed. The family moved again to Henderson Colorado where Don worked for his relative Ivan Leech at his sod farms for a time then back to Polk Nebraska in 77 working at the school as a janitor and in Central City building prefab homes till he moved to Colorado again. He and Mary divorced 1978. Dec 78 Don was married to Shirley Breit. David, a long awaited son for both Don and Shirley was born July 1980, in Denver Colorado. In 1984, they moved to Washington where Don directed a healing and prophecy ministry and Christian book store. After returning to Colorado in 1988, Don worked 15 years at Meadow Gold and then retired in 2005. Especially in his retirement, Don was greatly involved in the furthering of others' ministries and the director of a few such as Dominion Living Training Center and Miracle Healing and Prayer Center. He and Shirley also traveled within the US preaching and experiencing miracles and prophecy. Until 2010, Don resided primarily in Weld County, Colorado when he purchased a mountain residence in Livermore, Colorado where he enjoyed God's rustic creation and call on his heart to be a disciple for the remainder of his life. Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you Jesus Christ and an American Soldier. Jesus died for your soul and the soldier for your freedom. Don understood being a warrior for love. He sowed his share of wild oats, but when he committed to become a disciple of the Great I Am he infected people with grace by shared experiences of the contagious love of God to woo them into a new future. His family extended beyond blood relation for he welcomed all children of Christ and adopted those he discipled. His life was filled with adventures and opportunities to share his love of Jesus, the outdoors and sugary treats.
