Alan Brian Coe

Alan (Rick) Coe passed away at the Medical Center of Aurora on December 20, 2020 He was born July 8, 1934 in Streeter, Illinois and was preceded in death by his daughter Valerie Coe. He is survived by his wife Laura Coe and children Martin, Steven, Brian and Christine. He grew up in Illinois and lived in Dubuque, IA, Minnesota, Michigan, Cheyenne, WY and Thornton, CO before settling in Aurora, CO. Rick studied Business Administration at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and was a canoe instructor in Minnesota where he developed a love of fishing before moving to Iowa to work for Roshek Brothers department store where he met Laura Kascel; the two were married in Dubuque, Iowa on March 5, 1957. His love of fishing led to his job as a boat motor tester for Eska Motor Company on the Mississippi river. Rick began a career in Procurement as a Buyer/Purchasing Agent began in Dubuque, Iowa in the paper industry and transitioned to several procurement /management roles in the manufacturing and aerospace industries in Wyoming and Colorado (Martin Marietta). Rick was an avid athlete competing in fishing, bowling, basketball and especially softball. He won awards for bowling, and softball from his 20+ years of play in the Colorado Senior Softball Association.
