James Stuteville

Jim Stuteville, known as "Papason" to immediate family, (a nickname given to him by a daughter) was born January 21, 1927 in Trenton, Texas. Jim was one of 6 siblings...... Harold, the youngest remaining sibling lives in Michigan...….. At the age of 15 Jim joined the military, lying about his age, serving both in the US Navy and the US Air Force... In February of 1951 Jim married Jane Hartwell, who passed in 2002, together they had 2 daughters, Laura and Debra… While in the military the family traveled a lot, stationed in Africa, Germany, Michigan, Texas and Colorado..... when in Colorado "Papason" taught at Lowry Air Force Base until retiring from military life in 1964.... the family remained living in Colorado.... After retirement from the military "Papason" worked in Vietnam then later moved onto work on oil rigs in the gulf of Louisiana and Saudia Arabia....... In 1993 "Papason" and Jane became grandparents to their one and only granddaughter, Amber, who is now married to Devon and has 2 children, Hadleigh and Amayah...... "Papason" was a strong man, a kind man, a man who would help anyone, a man who never knew a stranger and would talk to anyone who would talk to him........ He loved watching Lawrence Welk, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.....he was a Denver Bronco football fan and enjoyed fishing. During the growing season there was always a watermelon in the refrigerator, he liked his cornbread, cooked greens and disliked chicken or any kind of fowl... On July 11, 2019 "Papason" passed, he was 92 years old and 7 months...… he always said he wanted to live to the age of 100...… he came close, didn't he??? he is so missed.....
