Shawn Andrew Millar passed peacefully at home in Golden, Colorado on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 after a short illness. He was born July 3, 1960 to Joanne (Hoffmeister) and Don Millar in Denver, was raised and attended schools in Lakewood, graduating from Alameda High School in 1979. Shawn lived and worked most of his life in the town he loved - Golden, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Don Millar. Shawn is greatly loved and will be missed by his daughter and son-in-law, Madison Millar Martinez (Sam) New River, AZ; son Cameron Millar of Tracyton, WA; friend and partner Colleen Fitzpatrick of Golden, CO; mother Joanne Millar of Lakewood, CO; sister Sasha Vanderhoof of Evergreen, CO; brother Michael (Janice) Millar of Littleton, CO; step-mother Patty Millar of Arvada, CO; and niece and nephew Tyler and Savannah Millar of Littleton, CO. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins as well as the many friends he considered family. We thank his caregivers, St. Anthony Porter Home Hospice who made his final days a little easier. Thank you for your compassion and care for our Shawn “Drew” and Papa, which is appreciated more than we can express. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that memorials be made to the Shriners’ Hospitals and to Disabled Veterans of America. A celebration of Shawn’s life is planned for Friday, August 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Rockland Community Church, 17 South Mt. Vernon Country Club Road, Golden, Colorado.
