James David Watson was born on December 17, 1976, in Colorado Springs, CO to David Watson and Victoria Aragon. James was a two-time double lung transplant recipient who battled cystic fibrosis throughout his life, never letting the disease define him nor did it keep him from living life to its fullest. He was a lifelong fan of the Broncos, Cubs, Blackhawks, KU, and The McRib Sandwich. James loved sports and was fiercely competitive. He enjoyed playing in the local ice hockey and softball leagues in Denver with his friends. James also participated in several national and international Transplant Games, sponsored by the National Kidney Foundation, and medaled in racquetball, track, curling and snowboarding. Had there been a medal for quotes from The Office, he would have won that, too. James was an avid supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the National Kidney Foundation. James was fluent in sarcasm, had a passion for life, was funny, kind, generous, never failed to remember a face, and was always there for someone when they needed him. James wore his heart on his sleeve and made true friends in all aspects of his life. James was an extraordinary human being and will be missed by all those who were given the opportunity to know him. James passed away on October 3, 2019, in Denver, CO while surrounded by family and friends. He was an organ/tissue donor and is survived by his wife of 10 years, Shelley Tijerina; his beautiful son, Alec Watson; mother, Victoria Boswell; and stepfather, Fred Boswell; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. There will be a celebration of his life at Call to Arms Brewing Company (4526 Tennyson St., Denver, CO 80212) on October 25, 2019, 1 – 4 pm with a time for sharing starting at 2PM.
