Edwin Escalera, age 55, of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of Maria Villanueva Escalera, returned to the arms of the Lord on May 9th 2020 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Edwin was born on March 3, 1965 in Bridgeport the son of Julio Escalera Miranda of Santurce, Puerto Rico & the late Elsa Iris Ramos of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Besides his mother Edwin was predeceased by sister, Aida Escalera.

Edwin had a great sense of humor, he loved cracking jokes and living life. He would listen to salsa while playing his congas. Edwin enjoyed being around his family and socializing with his friends. Edwin was a loving son, father, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was loved by so many and will live in our hearts forever.

Edwin is survived by: his spouse of thirty years Maria Escalera of Bridgeport, CT; daughter, Jessica Escalera of Bridgeport, CT; son, Edwin Escalera Jr. of New York; daughter, Jennifer Escalera of Bridgeport, CT; daughter, Jenisha Escalera of Bridgeport, CT; daughter, Ruby Colon of Bridgeport, CT; daughter, Marilyn Cortez of Bridgeport, CT; three brothers, Orlando, Robert, William Escalera of Bridgeport, CT; sister, Marisol Sanchez of Bridgeport; late sister; Carmen Delia Sanchez, CT; special niece that he treated as a daughter, Blue Sanchez; and a hosts of grandchildren and extended family and friends.
