Albert “Bert” A. DiStazio, Sr., 84, of Enfield, died peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Medical Center. Born in Enfield on August 12, 1927, Albert was the son of the late John and Rose (Curcio) DiStazio. A lifelong resident of Enfield, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Hartford Trade School. Bert owned and operated Enfield Remodeling and Building for over forty years and retired in 1992. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bert was an avid gardener and enjoyed bowling in many area leagues with his wife. Bert is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-one years, Barbara “Babs” A. (Danielson) DiStazio; his children, Albert A. DiStazio, Jr., and his wife, Karen of Enfield, John D. DiStazio and his companion, George of Boston, MA, James M. DiStazio of Enfield, Patricia R. Crawford and her husband, Kenneth of Enfield, and Donna M. Rau and her husband, Michael of East Longmeadow; three grandchildren, Joseph, Adam and Aaron and a great grandson, Kaden Jacob; two sisters, Mary Ramsey of Somers, Eleanor Devin and her husband, Kenneth of Enfield; and a brother, Jerry DiStazio of Somers. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph DiStazio and a sister, Sadie Petkis. Family and friends will gather for a service in celebration of Bert’s life on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, followed by burial at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Bert’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082 .
